gravity-sandra-bullock-earth

While you’ve been finishing off the Christmas leftovers and selection boxes, we at The Hollywood News have been busy compiling the very best of this year’s cinematic offerings. So, before you pop off out in your party gear and get on the champagne to see in the New Year, it’s time to celebrate 2013, movie-style.

GRAVITY took us to dizzying new technical heights, Shane Black split IRON MAN fans by messing with Marvel canon, and Edgar Wright finished his Cornetto Trilogy in style. SeaWorld was condemned, James McAvoy lost his mind on more than one occasion, and Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe continued to shed their HARRY POTTER invisibility cloaks. Yes, our collaborative ten top list may lean very heavily on the blockbuster side, but all of these films and actors feature amongst the individual lists from our writers below, as well as a number of television entries from some of our Stage And Small Screen team. From UPSTREAM COLOUR to THIS IS 40, BERNIE to CLOUD ATLAS, there’s a lot to feast your eyes on.

So without further ado, Happy New Year from all of us at The Hollywood News! Check out all of our individual lists below (after reliving the past year with Paul’s amazing video montage), and here’s to another incredible year at the movies.
