Xerxes Assures Athens Will Burn In ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ Poster

Possibly the final domestic character poster for Warner Bros.’ much-anticipated sequel 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE, the hulking God-like Xerxes (played by the returning Rodrigo Santoro) gets his chance to shine.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistocles (Sulliavan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistocles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
