20th Century Fox Sets ‘Ice Age 5’ For 2016

Ice Age.

There’s just no stopping the ICE AGE franchise after four incredibly successful films in the animated series from 20th Century Fox. Now, in an unsurprising decision Fox has given the greenlight to the inevitable and predictable fifth film that will follow on from 2012’s ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT.

The first four films have collectively grossed $2.8 billion worldwide, which is certainly nothing to sniff, at and it seems that Fox have definitely noticed the franchises continued popularity. The most recent film, which was last year’s ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, grossed $877 million worldwide and thus convinced Fox executives that another adventure with Manny, Sid and Diego is worth their while. It does beg the question however, when will the animated franchise reach its conclusion, with the quality of the films’ taking a noticeable dip since the first instalment way back in 2002.

Meanwhile, the announcement of a fifth ICE AGE has pushed back Fox’s ANUBIS to 23rd of March 2018. The film is said to based on Bruce Zick’s novel The Anubis Tapestry: Between Twilights. Check back with us for updates on both ICE AGE 5 and ANUBIS as we get them.
