First Explosive Teaser For ‘The Expendables 3’

I’ve still yet to catch EXPENDABLES 2 after being fairly unimpressed Sylvester Stallone’s franchise kick-starter. While the general consensus seems to be that Simon West’s sequel is a marked improvement, the very thought of losing another couple of hours of my life to another turgid mess doesn’t fill me with joy. Still, that ain’t stopping Stallone and his cast of retro icons who will return in Patrick Hughes’ THE EXPENDABLES 3! Check out the first footage below…

In The Expendables 3, Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought.

Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables, but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

THE EXPENDABLES 3 stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Robert Davi, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, Ronda Rousey and Mel Gibson. It’s set for cinemas August 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
