Edgar Wright is not only the genius director responsible for SHAUN OF THE DEAD, HOT FUZZ and THE WORLD’S END but he is also one of the most influential and talented men working in the Film industry today. With this in mind its extremely interesting to hear the director’s opinions on the films that have been released this year in what has undoubtedly been a brilliant year for the industry. Now Wright has compiled a list of his top ten favourite films released in 2013 which is incredibly refreshing and different to what you may expect. However it should be noted that when Wright decided which releases would occupy his top ten list it was only the 26th November, and therefore there are still many films that the director had yet to see at that time. Here are Edgar Wright’ top ten films of 2013 (so far):
10. Rush (Ron Howard)
9. The Bling Ring (Sofia Coppola)
8. Prisoners (Denis Villeneuve)
7. The Spectacular Now (James Ponsoldt)
6. Short Term 12 (Destin Cretton)
5. Behind the Candelabra (Steven Soderbergh)
4. Before Midnight (Richard Linklater)
3. Blue Jasmine (Woody Allen)
2. Spring Breakers (Harmony Korine)
1. Gravity (Alfonso Cuaron)
