We all know that David S. Goyer is the man behind many of the most recent comic-book themed screenplays at Warner Brothers, including the Dark Knight movies, and we know he wrote the first draft for the sequel to this year’s MAN OF STEEL, but it looks like the studio have brought in a highly acclaimed and indeed Oscar-winning writer to rewrite his said first draft. Chris Terrio, who penned the Ben Affleck directed ARGO will have a shot at the script for BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN as Goyer is said to be simply too busy to have another pop.
Terrio is said to have a close relationship with Ben Affleck, he who is the new Batman, and will begin work immediately, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The news comes just hours after Joaquin Phoenix was rumoured to have been offered the villain role in the big-budget sequel.
BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN will star Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Laurence Fishburne. It will be released on 17th July, 2015 and will be directed by Zack Snyder.
