Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman makes his long-awaited directorial debut with an adaptation Mark Helprin’s seasonal 1983 novel, WINTER’S TALE. Currently delighting audiences as part of the SAVING MR. BANKS ensemble, Colin Farrell takes the lead as petty thief Peter Lake in the story set in a mythic New York City. After desperately breaking into the home of a bed-ridden young woman (Jessica Brown Findlay) and finding shelter from Russell Crowe’s violent crime lord, Peter slowly begins to fall in love with the beautiful Beverly Penn.
The romantic fantasy, which covers more than a century of miracles, crossed destinies and an age-old battle between good and evil also stars Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, Eva Marie Saint, Ripley Sobo, Matt Bomer, Mckayla Twiggs and Will Smith. It’s set to hit US cinemas 14th February and the UK a week later. If you missed the magical first trailer, you can find it HERE.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
