Hot off the press! Some exciting news from the follow-up to MAN OF STEEL with the news that Warner Bros are busy trying to convince the brilliantly versatile Joaquin Phoenix for a villain role in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN.
Obviously, he’s not one known for taking on the big budget roles but Variety have been told that their ‘sources’ are busy trying to see if they can convince him for a role that may, or may not, be Lex Luthor. Obviously, this would be one hell of a catch for everyone involved but click here for all the other rumoured actors for Lex. The thing that stirs a story like this is that WB and the actor’s agent had no comment which might well suggest it’s in the ‘further discussion’ stages and although I personally would love this choice…would Phoenix take it on?
The main man is about to lead the brilliant looking Spike Jonze movie HER, and is also talking to Gus van Sant for a spot in his next project SEA OF TREES. We’ll keep our collective ears to the ground for you on all of it.
BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN – so far- stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. It is scheduled for release on July 17th 2015.

Tired of these casting rumors for BvS. There’s been a million “So and so wanted/eyed for Batman vs. Superman” articles. The OFFICIAL casting of Gal Gadot was so refreshing amidst all the damn casting rumors.

I do know what you mean. I think this is a brave choice, even for a story, if WB are able to nab him though.
I guess we’re set for another year or rumours though! Darn it.

What…? I disagree that superhero movies have been on a decline since Iron Man 2, not I disagree that Iron Man 2 was terrible. All the Iron Man films have been terrible, especially Iron Man 3.
