Expect more of the visually-stunning same in the sequel to Zack Snyder’s star-making swords n’ sandals epic 300. Again, based on source material from Frank Miller, Warner Bros. tasked director Noam Murro with the side-quel 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE, as we see Sullivan Stapleton’s General Themistokles and his Greek army face off against the hulking God-like Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his Persian Navy Commander Artemisia (Eva Green). The majority takes place at sea at around the same time as Gerard Butler and his small number of Spartan warriors are having their fun!
We’ve two more character posters from the film set for cinemas of March next year. One featuring Green’s ruthless femme fatale and the other with Themistokles’ right hand man Calisto, played by rising Brit Jack O’ Connell.
300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE is released in cinemas 7th March 2014 and also stars Hans Matheson, Lena Headey, David Wenham, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey and Andrew Tiernan.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
