Go Ape For The First Trailer For ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’

“I NEED TO SPEAK TO CAESAR!”

So it begins! The first trailer for sci-fi sequel DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES has finally arrived. CLOVERFIELD director Matt Reeves takes charge of the rebooted series after Rupert Wyatt’s impressive attempt in breathing new life into one of 20th Century Fox’s biggest hit franchises.  This next chapter is set 15 years after the recent summer blockbuster and follows a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier, as they struggle to survive the growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Andy Serkis’ motion-captured monkey Caesar.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES co-stars Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-McPhee, Enrique Murciano and Kirk Acevedo. It’s set for cinemas July 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
