Who doesn’t love a body-swap comedy? The simple premise has been used so many times, and it’s understandable why. First of all it’s easy to pitch, and second of all the simple ‘A in body of B’ plot has limitless possibilities. MISS GRANNY takes the formula popularised in films such as BIG and FREAKY FRIDAY, and applies it to an elderly woman who suddenly gets back her 20 year old body. The trailer seems to have quite a few funny moments, but also makes the elder a foulmouthed and rather blunt character. This isn’t the first time Korea has dabbled with body-swapping, as the 2008 film THE GAME, saw two men switch brains. That film was more of a thriller, whereas MISS GRANNY goes straight for comedy.
MISS GRANNY will be released in Korea on 23rd January 2014. It stars Shim Eun Kyung, Na Moon Hee, Park In Hwan, Lee Jin Wook, and Sung Dong Il.
