Like Sony with their plans for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN franchise, 20th Century Fox is looking at expanding their own comic-book universe. With the help of their new creative consultant Simon Kinberg, the iconic studio have their sights set in adapting two projects created by Mark Millar.

The first is Scot’s upcoming new comic book STARLIGHT, which is said to be six-part mini-series space fantasy adventure being described as ‘Flash Gordon’ meets ‘The Dark Knight Returns’. It’s set to hit stores in March and is illustrated by Goran Parlov with Kinberg writing and producing the big-screen transition. Secondly, Fox and Kinberg will also produce Millar’s KINDERGARTEN HEROES, and have hired screenwriter Carter Blanchard to pen the adaptation.

Kinberg is certainly getting stuck in and is also an integral part to the recent plans for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN sequels and is also handling rewrites of Josh Trank’s reboot of FANTASTIC FOUR.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
