Yet another clip has hit for Danish director Lars Von Trier’s controversial two-part drama NYMPHOMANIAC which features the troubled title character, Charlotte Gainsbourg’s self-diagnosed sex-addict Joe, looking at a little sexual cold turkey.
The film chronicles the increasingly kinky exploits of a young girl as she grows up with addictive appetite for intercourse, after she is saved from a beating and recounts her harrowing lifestyle to a lonely old man who came to her aid.
The all-star film also features Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgard, Nicolas Bro, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Jens Albinus and Udo Kier.
NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 1, which centres on Joe’s childhood and sexual adolescence will be available on video-on-demand on the 6th March 2014 and limited cinemas from the 21st March 2014. NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 2 again, which will look at her later life, will be made available on an earlier VOD platform on the 3rd April before that limited theatre run on the 18th April 2014.
The all-star film is set for cinemas in the UK from 7th March, although there is currently no word if this will be as the completed five-hour version or the first of two.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
