While she seemed the favourite given her connection to the chosen one Alan Taylor, it’s now official Game Of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor in the upcoming cyborg-assassin reboot now titled TERMINATOR: GENESIS. THOR: THE DARK WORLD director Taylor reunites with the actress best known for her role of Daenerys Targaryen in epic HBO series and will join Jason Clarke, who we learned earlier in the week, will portray her son John in time-hopping sci-fier originally created by James Cameron.
Clarke beat off stiff competition by rising SHORT TERM 12 actress Brie Larson and with Arnold Schwarzenegger also expected to return as at the hulking robotic killing machine, there is only Kyle Reese (originally played by Michael Biehn and later Anton Yelchin in McG’s TERMINATOR: SALVATION) remaining to cast among the main players.
TERMINATOR: GENESIS is a joint production between powerhouse siblings David Ellison’s Skydance and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna, with Paramount Pictures also involved. It’s set to shoot early next year and will hit cinemas in the jam-packed summer of 2015.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
