Producers must love the single location thriller, as they most certainly come in at the lower end of the budgetary spectrum. In FREEZER, the man I think should have been Batman (nothing against Affleck though), Dylan McDermott, finds himself trapped in the walk-in freezer of a restaurant after gangsters lock him in until he tells them where his money is. A simple premise that will hopefully be carried off well. Movies have always scared me with the use of walk-in freezers, but this seems to be more action and crime driven than horror. Perhaps they could have called it Panic Fridge.
This is the first cinematic feature of director Mikael Salomon, since 1998’s HARD RAIN, and if you’ve seen that film then you’re probably not too excited by this. Hopefully the claustrophobic setting and performance of the ever reliable McDermott will make this one to watch.
FREEZER is released 17th January 2013. It stars Dylan McDermott, Yuliya Snigir, and Peter Facinelli.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

Ironically, this picture of McDermott http://www.purepeople.com/media/dylan-mcdermott_m157193 looks like a cosplay of Affleck’s character in Argo…
BTW, Freezer is a much better title than Panic Fridge. This sounds just… lame. Like a Roger Corman flick.
