‘Game Of Thrones’ Momoa In Talks For ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

Since leaving the epic HBO ensemble series Game Of Thrones, hulking actor Jason Momoa has found himself a little unlucky. After landing the lead title character in CONAN THE BARBARIAN, the disappointing result both commercially and critically suggested he may not be a leading man. He’s followed that up with a villain role in Walter Hill and Sylvester Stallone’s dud BULLET TO THE HEAD and will next be seen in David Hayter’s action/horror hybrid WOLVES. It’s also worth pointing out he narrowly lost out on a role of Drax The Destroyer in James Gunn’s upcoming GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

Well, what could be Marvel’s loss may well turn out to be DC and Warner Bros. gain, as the Hawaiian actor is said to be in final negotiations for an unknown role in Zack Snyder’s still-untitled BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN project. His beefy presence proposes any number of villains (and the plot is rumoured to have two) from the comic-books of the Caped Crusader or Kal-El, however, given this is effectively an introduction for JUSTICE LEAGUE, could he be set to play Martian Manhunter?

As always, we’ll keep you posted.

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN (or MAN OF STEEL 2) will see Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane reprise their roles from the Superman reboot, with Ben Affleck donning the cape and cowl as Bruce Wayne and his brooding alter-ego. Gal Gadot was also recently confirmed as the ass-kicking Amazonian Princess Diana Prince aka Wonder Women.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
