Jason Bateman arrives in his directorial debut BAD WORDS, a film in which he stars as a 40-something who still takes part in spelling bees meant for children, due to a technicality as he never passed the 8th grade. Despite the hate he recives from his fellow contestants, their parents, and the education system, he continues to travel to different contests and soon forms an unlikely bond with Chaitainya (Rohan Chand), a young boy with no friends.
The trailer is absolutely brilliant with Bateman playing a detestable yet lovable man-child. The lines are funny and sometimes offensive, but you can see this will have all the heart of BAD SANTA.
BAD WORDS is released on 24th March 2014 i the US with a UK release yet to be confirmed. It stars Jason Bateman, Rohan Chand, Kathryn Hahn, Philip Baker Hall, Allison Janney, and Ben Falcone.
