New Writers For ‘Star Trek 3’ As Joe Cornish Ruled Out

Star_Trek

Following the success of J.J. Abrams’ reboot, sequel STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS took the world by storm. Now we bring you news that the second sequel has new writers! Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne will both be joining Trek veteran Roberto Orci, with partner Alex Kurtzman making room for the incoming duo. There’s still no director (sob) in place with Abrams busy with a little project titled STAR WARS: EPISODE VII but rumours that ATTACK THE BLOCK’s Joe Cornish is fairly high up on the list of possibilities was indeed true. However, we’re now hearing Paramount Pictures are looking elsewhere.

They’ll be making sure to have the right players behind-the-scenes for the feature as it looks like the film will be released to coincide with STAR TREK’s 50th anniversary in 2016.

Who would you like to see direct or even star in STAR TREK 3? Let us know!
