Joseph Gordon-Levitt is seemingly not only making some great choices from roles to directorial debuts – DON JON is brilliant – but also continues to help run his HitRecord with huge success. He’s now taking the collaborative company (that was also crowdsourced) up another level by getting a TV Show that will showcase talent of all kinds. The sensibly named ‘HitRecord On TV‘ will debut at Sundance and then go live in the States on Pivot, a channel designed to target an audience between 18-34 years-old and so perfect for what he’s got planned.
After its debut at Sundance, it’ll run for 8 episodes in the first season and from the trailer below, gives us the impression of proper talent coming through. Could this be the first anti-reality TV show that actually introduces us to true, long-term talent? We hope so and it looks like a lot of fun, JGL had this to say about it:
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the premiere of ‘HitRecord on TV’ than by a screening at Sundance — a place that means a great deal to me personally. We launched hitRECord as a production company at Sundance back in 2010 at New Frontier and have been very fortunate to be invited back for screenings and events ever since. I’m so grateful for the continuous support Sundance has provided to HITRECORD through the years. It’ll be exciting to share our show with Park City audiences before it premieres on Pivot in January!”
Mr Gordon-Levitt will host with executive production from Jared Geller and Brian Graden. We’ll get to see everything from the HitRecord global community including short films, live performances, music, animation and so much more. I hope we get to see it over here in the UK as it looks freaking awesome and to help get you excited, check it out:
