I’m a huge fan of David Magee’s LIFE OF PI big-screen adaption (and I loved the book) so this might well perk some interest towards the film Narnia series for me as well, as he’s now set to take on the task of bringing THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE SILVER CHAIR to audiences.
Growing up, I read a lot of C.S. Lewis but wasn’t that excited about the first three, yes three, film versions that were released. They seemed like a solid fantasy affair but never really hit the heights or enjoyment of the massive world of Narnia and all that goes with it. This adaption would be from the sixth book in the series and even though it’s very early days on the production, having Magee there is a good choice to bring a bit of life back to a story that deserves it.
Although we’ve previously had Will Poulter, Liam Neeson, Ben Barnes and Tilda Swinton involved with these but I’d hedge a good bet that they’ll start all over again and hopefully with a lot more heart.
