You’ll know John Slattery best from television’s ‘Mad Men‘ but he’s also been keeping himself busy with various interesting projects recently including BLUEBIRD but also this directorial feature debut GOD’S POCKET that comes complete with a stellar cast.
The film is based on Peter Dexter’s novel of the same name and stars not only Philip Seymour Hoffman but also Christina Hendricks, John Turturro, Caleb Landry Jones, Richard Jenkins and our very own Eddie Marsan. It’s based around Hoffman’s character Mickey, who gets in over his head when he tries to cover-up the accidental death of his stepson.
I can’t quite make out if the screenplay by John Slattery and Alex Metcalf will be a black comedy or just a drama but, I’d guess, a bit of everything from the above. GOD’S POCKET is set for a release at some point in 2014 and will also premiere at Sundance next year. I’ll be keeping an eye out and check out the first images below!
