The US release schedule for Magnolia Pictures’s controversial two-part drama has now been confirmed. The film is directed by Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier and follows the life of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s self-diagnosed sex-addict Joe, as she recounts her harrowing exploits to an old man that saved her from a back alley beating and raping.
NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 1, which centres on Joe’s childhood and sexual adolescence will be available on video-on-demand on the 6th March 2014 and limited cinemas from the 21st March 2014. NYMPHOMANIAC: PART 2 again, which will look at her later life, will be made available on an earlier VOD platform on the 3rd April before that limited theatre run on the 18th April 2014.
The all-star film is set for cinemas in the UK from 7th March, although there is currently no word if this will be as the completed five-hour version or the first of two. Check out these posters marking each separate part.
NYMPHOMANIAC co-stars Jamie Bell, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgard, Nicolas Bro, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Jens Albinus and Udo Kier.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
