Emma Stone Out Of ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Jonah Hill Still Undecided

Jonah Hill and Emma Stone

Last month we reported that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone had both been offered roles in Sony’s very long gestated GHOSTBUSTERS 3. The news came as a sign of good luck for the forever plagued project that has hit speed bump after speed bump, well now it seems that Stone has declined the chance to appear in the film.

Hill is reportedly still considering the role and has yet to respond to his offer, although things aren’t looking too good for Sony’s third phantom-phasing film in their long dead franchise. Ever since Bill Murray declared his lack of interest in returning for GHOSTBUSTERS 3 in any capacity the film has had no small amount of trouble receiving the green light, with Dan Aykroyd seemingly never losing hope that the project will one day be made. It’s currently unknown why Stone declined her offer assuming of couse Murray’s lack of involvement played no part in her decision (after all in ZOMBIELAND she declared her admiration for the actor). Here is Schmoes Know’s report on the matter:

‘Emma Stone is passing on “Anna” but Jonah Hill still has an offer out for “Jeremy”.  Interesting enough, Sony wants two big stars signed on or they will not green light the picture’.

Looks like Sony aren’t budging with the project until they have some contemporary stars attached to it, maybe it’s time to give up the ghost guys?

We’ll update you with any more news (well, or when they decide to give up) on GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

Come on Hollywood. I’ve had my hopes up since childhood that Ghostbusters 3 would become a reality. With the right script, actors, and backing this could be a great thing. Ghostbusters 3!!!

If Jonah (most likely to decline) and Emma are out, there are plenty of actors and actresses that could be great for roles in GB3…..Channing Tatum, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Jennifer Lawrence, Aziz Ansari, Craig Robinson, Zack Braff, Johnny Galecki, Simob Helberg, Kaley Cuoco, Jack Black, Phil LaMarr, and many others. And why not have an actor to play the adult version of Oscar Barrett (Dana’s baby from GB2)?
