In looking increasingly more likely that the forthcoming TERMINATOR film is going to go the reboot route as opposed to a forth sequel. Perhaps part of that is to do with the surprising failure of the impressively cast TERMINATOR: SALVATION. I mean who could f*ck something like that up? Oh yea, that silly named McG twit. Something not helped by Jonathan Mostow’s poor RISE OF THE MACHINES either.
Well, after previously bringing you a new a number of names up for the lead female role of Sarah Connor (which included THE WOLF OF WALL STREET’s Margot Robbie and Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany), we’re now hearing the casting process is coming to a close with DOM HEMINGWAY’s Emilia Clarke and 21 JUMP STREET’s Brie Larson the only two remaining.
With the film now in the hands of Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and THOR: THE DARK WORLD’s Alan Taylor directing, you’d have to think Clarke is looking favourite after previously working with Taylor on the epic HBO series Game Of Thrones. However, with awards recognition looming for Larson’s performance in SHORT TERM 12, could she be a late outsider racing to the finish line?

Which of the two beauties would you prefer in the role previously played by Linda Hamilton? As ever, do let us know.
TERMINATOR (5?) is set to hit cinemas from the 1st July 2015.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
