Despite completing principle photography over a year ago, additional shooting (don’t call them reshoots!) is currently underway in Australia for George Miller’s MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. The action sequel/reboot will see brilliant British actor Tom Hardy taking on the lead role (that launched the career of Mel Gibson) of the nothing-to-lose post-apocalyptic ‘Road Warrior.’ Max Rockatansky. Having recently confirmed the film will be converted for a 3D release, Warner Bros and Village Roadshow also stated it will arrive summer of 2015 on the 15th May – over 3 years since commencing production in South Africa.
We’ve a brand new behind-the-scenes image of Hardy on the set of those reshoots (oops). Early word is Miller and his cast really have knocked the film out of the park and the additional filming is to set it up for expected sequel MAD MAX: FURIOSA. Being such a huge fan of the original trilogy, I’m definitely up for more carnage involving the heroic character!
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will co-star Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic. Mel Gibson will also cameo in an unknown role.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
