Vin Diesel is notoriously open about his Hollywood goings on. Having recently used his Facebook page to announce his involvement with Marvel, he has once again used the social networking site to give us a big tease concerning his KOJAK adaptation. On his Facebook page he answered a question posed by a fan:
Damien Telle Livia Lelong: -wrote- With what director would you like to work soon?
Kojak… New York…
Ang Lee…
Ang Lee, is known for making huge jumps in genre, with LIFE OF PI, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, THE ICE STORM and HULK on his resume. This could just be a “want” of Diesel’s, but the fact he gives a location to go with the film and director, suggests the two may have met/be meeting concerning the project. KOJAK was a hugely popular TV show during the 1970s and received numerous TV movies along with star Telly Savalas. The show attempted a reboot in 2005 starring Ving Rhames, but it didn’t make it past its first set of episodes.
Personally, I’d love to see Lee handle the project as I’m a huge fan of all his films. It will also be great to see Diesel step away from action orientated roles and show us some of his promise from films such as BOILER ROOM.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
