Coming across as a mixture between HARRY POTTER, MEAN GIRLS, and countless Vampire themed franchises, VAMPIRE ACADEMY looks as though it may be able to offer something a bit fresher than we’re used to. From MEAN GIRLS director Mark Waters and based on the book by Richelle Mead, the film follows a group of vampires and half vampire/humans as they embark on their education at St. Vladimir’s VAMPIRE ACADEMY. This UK trailer shows the mix of action and comedy, as it fuses both fantasy elements and traditional teen-movie problems with a vampire twist.
VAMPIRE ACADEMY is released in the US on the 14th February 2014 and in the UK on the 19th February 2014. It stars Zoey Deutch, Sarah Hyland, Olga Kyrulenko, Sami Gayle, Joely Richardson, and Gabriel Byrne.
