We all like a bit of Tim Allen, from Buzz Lightyear to THE SANTA CLAUSE films. Despite his chequered past he’s become a trustworthy indication of a family friendly film. However, was there any need to remove David Attenborough’s narration of THE PENGUIN KING? American distributor’s obviously thought so, and so Tim Allen is the man to replace the legendary British nature documentarian. He even makes fart jokes. Great! Judging by the US Blu-ray cover, for the film is set to be released in the US on 25th February 2014, it’s going for a much more childish feel to it.
This isn’t always the case with American interpretations of Penguin related documentaries, as MARCH OF THE PENGUINS replaced the too cutesy French character voices with a simpler and more powerful narration by Morgan Freeman. Check out the latest clips and trailers below for the retitled ADVENTURES OF THE PENGUIN KING (sounds like an animated feature).
Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
