Adam Brody will guest star in the third season of Fox’s romantic comedy New Girl as an ex-boyfriend of main character Jess (Zooey Deschanel). The actor, who found fame on teen drama The O.C. as geeky Seth Cohen, will play a character described as a ‘cool, stay-at-home dad who prides himself in being an ideal ex’.
Currently airing it’s third series in America, New Girl is a comedy focusing on the relationships between four roommates in Los Angeles. Brody is expected to film his episode next month with an air date of early 2014. We certainly never pictured Seth Cohen as a stay-at-home dad (where’s Summer?!) but hopefully the writers will create an interesting relationship between him and Jess, who is supposed to have remained friends with since the end of their relationship.
Since finishing The O.C. in 2007 Brody has gone down the indie film route with roles in Diablo Cody’s horror JENNIFER’S BODY and Julian Farino’s THE ORANGES. Recently seen on screen as porn actor Harry Reems in LOVELACE alongside Amanda Seyfried he’s also contuined to star on the small screen with recurring roles in TV series’ Burning Love, The League and Showtime’s House of Lies.
