David Bradley Grabs Key Role In ‘The Strain’ TV Series

SA

Straight off the success of the BBC Two docudrama ‘An Adventure in Space and Time‘, the versatile (and brilliant) David Bradley has been cast as Professor Abraham Setrakian in the upcoming ‘The Strain‘. The series is based on the best-selling novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, with additional support from producer Carlton Cuse  – the name you’ll recognise as one of the team behind ‘Lost’ and ‘Bates Motel‘ at the moment.

Very interestingly, if you like these kind of useless TV facts, John Hurt was originally cast but the task has now been given to Bradley in the role of the Professor. ‘The Strain‘ is described a high-concept thriller and does seem like a very specific one to be taking on. Bradley’s role as the holocaust survivor, who immigrated to the USA after WW2, who now runs a pawn shop in Spanish Harlem and as an evil outbreak of vampirism spreads, he’s the only one with all the right answers…if people want to listen!

David Bradley will join Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez in an extensive ensemble cast and I’m very intrigued about this one, that could actually be one of the more developed stories on TV.
