It completed principle filming well over a year ago, although additional shooting is slated for December, but we now have a confirmed release for George Miller’s MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. The action sequel/reboot will be led by British actor Tom Hardy, and takes on the role that launched the career of Mel Gibson, who surprisingly is a late addition to the cast. Making a return in an as-yet-unknown role (we’re thinking a post-apoclyptic cameo).
Warner Bros and Village Roadshow have confirmed FURY ROAD will the join the already crowded summer of 2015 on the 15th May – over 3 years after commencing production in South Africa. It’s also being prepared for a 3D conversion even with the declining popularity of the formant, which is sure to plummet even further with another year a half to go. Still, with talent as good as this involved (and the fact Miller and Gibson’s original action trio are classics) we have high hopes for this one!
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will co-star Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
