Domain Registrations Hint At Possible Titles For ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

While we’ve been calling Zack Snyder’s Superman sequel BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN since that jaw-dropping announcement at San Diego Comic Con, we pretty much knew it was never going to use such an eye-rolling title. Warner Bros.’ latest move suggests they’ll be using a sub-title to introduce Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader to the world of Kryptionan Kal-El, while keeping the now cemented movie moniker of the MAN OF STEEL.

The studio have begun registering multiple domain names which is now becoming the norm for major tent-pole movies. Yes, some (and often all) could be to throw fans off the scent of the actual title they’ll end up using, with others also possibilities for video-games or even animated spin-offs. They’re also often used as a test to gain fans’ feedback. So, here are the possibilities for the forthcoming adventure set to begin shooting in January.

MAN OF STEEL: BATTLE THE KNIGHT

MAN OF STEEL: BEYOND DARKNESS

MAN OF STEEL: BLACK OF KNIGHT

MAN OF STEEL: DARKNESS FALLS

MAN OF STEEL: KNIGHT FALLS

MAN OF STEEL: SHADOW OF THE KNIGHT

MAN OF STEEL: THE BLACKEST HOUR

MAN OF STEEL: THE DARKNESS WITHIN

Which is your favourite? Or should they stick with BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN or even MAN OF STEEL 2? As ever, we’d love to know.

Zack Snyder’s superheero sequel currently has Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne returning alongside newcomer Affleck. It’s slated for cinemas from the 17th July  2015.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
