Clip Released From Disney’s Short ‘Get A Horse!’

Disney have released a short clip from their reworking of classic short film GET A HORSE!, featuring Mickey, Minnie and their friends.

Featuring Walt Disney himself as the voice of Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ GET A HORSE! follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal Minnie Mouse (voice of Marcellite Garner) and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow as they delight in a musical haywagon ride-until Peg-Leg Pete (voice of Billy Bletcher) shows up and tries to run them off the road. With both classic black-and-white, hand-drawn animation and up-to-the-minute technical wizardry-often in the same frame-this groundbreaking short takes a sharp turn when Mickey finds himself separated from Minnie and must use every trick up his sleeve to find his way back to her.

Adam Green, Head Of Animation, partnered with award-winning animator Eric Goldberg for the film. They collaborated in an effort to mesh the pencil lines and pixels seamlessly. Green says:

“It’s really hard to animate these iconic vintage characters in the computer, because the computer wasn’t created to do loose and gestured animation. It wants to do structured rigid surfaces. This assignment was incredibly challenging, and pushed us in new directions, but we had a blast working with these early versions of Mickey and the gang.”

Directed by Lauren MacMullan, GET A HORSE! will play in cinemas before screenings of FROZEN.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
