It’s been a good week for Universal as it has just been confirmed that they’ve broken their 2012 record for domestic box office gross this year with $1.352 billion and now Malcolm D. Lee is negotiating a deal with the studio to write, direct and produce another instalment of THE BEST MAN movies. The most recent of the franchise, THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY, had a brilliant opening weekend grossing over $30 million domestically.
We’re not sure yet who will make up the ensemble cast will be as none are contracted into a third movie. They may have a while to wait though as it took Lee 14 years to write a sequel to THE BEST MAN.
But, he’s unlikely to let the film slide as THE BEST MAN HOLIDAY had the fifth largest opening ever for an R-rated romantic comedy, quite a feat!
