There is a brand new Peter Pan themed movie being set up at Warner Brothers, and the studio are apparently chasing THE COUNSELLOR actor Javier Bardem to lead up the villains in the piece, playing the character of Blackbeard. HANNA helmer Joe Wright is directing the film, which is said to be an origin story based around the Neverland world from JM Barrie’s books.
Deadline report that the film revolves around ‘an orphan is taken to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes the savior of the natives and leads a rebellion against evil pirates’. Jason Fuchs, who penned ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT for Fox, has written the screenplay.
So, do we think that Bardem will make a good pirate? I kinda like the idea of the Spaniard playing another baddie after his brilliant turn as Silva in last year’s SKYFALL
