20th Century Fox’s CITY THAT SAILED looks to be a very interesting film indeed. No metaphorical nonsense here, the film’s title is indeed the basis of the film – Manhattan island somehow breaks away from the Earth and begins its voyage across the Atlantic. I’m guessing the vast majority of the island’s population would be like this.
Will Smith has been hovering around the project since before he decided to join MEN IN BLACK 3 and has now officially been confirmed to star. Sitting high atop the director’s chair and watching out for icebergs is Shawn Levy, director of the NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM films and the 2-hour Google advert THE INTERNSHIP. The script is being written by Audrey Wells, with Smith and James Lassiter on production.
Levy has also been attached to direct NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 3, which will release at Christmas next year.
