The BBC have only gone and done it again to pull out their bag of tricks with this very secret and quite brilliant prequel to November 23rd’s ‘The Day of the Doctor‘ Doctor Who special. Not content with putting on a number of events over the next two weeks, they’ve only gone and linked the old and new together in one of the most exciting 6-minute short films you’ll see – if you’re a Whovian – in ages! It’s only…Paul McGann!!
In the words of the BBC:
The Bringer of Darkness, the Oncoming Storm, the Doctor, the Warrior – A Time Lord! The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in the mini episode, The Night Of The Doctor. But which? 23.11.13 #SaveTheDay
Find out in full via the mini-episode below and don’t forget to check our spoiler free report here from the BFI earlier this week for Mart Gatiss’s ‘An Adventure in Space and Time‘ that celebrates beautifully how Doctor Who began.
So, excited? Let us know below what you think and…what other surprises do you think we’re in for?

I hope the coming season is better than what that portends.

This was somewhat of a disappointment.I really was expecting Paul McGann to regenerate into Christopher Eccleston considering the fact that would have finally filled in that regenerative gap from the doctors 8 and 9 that is currently unknown and the long awaited question would have been finally answered on how Paul McGann regenerated into Christoper Eccleston.
However John hurt’s doctor must be The Doctor version 8.5.Maybe after John’s Doctor AKA the War Doctor dies then he regenerates into Christopher Eccleston.
Yeah I may be overlooking into things but there is that 1 piece of the timeline puzzle that needs placing.

Beyond stupid! Moffat should have quit a long time ago! His stories are beyond half-witted!

Haha, that’s exactly it – in my eyes!
Or…there’s a double timeline and McCann doesn’t crash and then becomes the 9th.
Ah, Who, you cheeky bugger.
