My love of John Carpenter’s seasonal slasher classic HALLOWEEN knows no bounds. For myself, it is without doubt the finest horror film ever made with its simplistic approach in building suspense. An absolute groundbreaker, not only in the horror genre but film itself. What Carpenter did with that film, aided by a strong script, cast and photography by Dean Cundey, still astounds.
This weekend sees the Halloween: 35 Years of Terror convention taking place in Pasadena, California and to celebrate the anniversary for one of cinemas iconic boogeymen, Mondo artist Jock was asked to design limited edition artwork inspired by one of the film’s eeriest scenes. Michael Myer’s silent psychopath peeks between the sheets on washing day!
If you’re venturing over to Pasadena this weekend make sure you pick one up as they’re likely to sell out fast!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
