There’s been a lot of jiggling round of release dates again today following yesterdays news on FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and INDEPENDENCE DAY 2. We can now confirm Jake Kasdan’s adult comedy SEX TAPE and Scott Derrickson’s supernatural thriller BEWARE THE NIGHT have both been moved.
Both projects come from Sony, with the R-rated comedy now taking on Marvel comic adaptation GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and James Brown biopic GET ON UP, all released on August 1 2014. SEX TAPE, starring Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz, follows a couple who unfortunately misplace their kinky um… sex tape (terribly careless). Jack Black, Rob Corddry and Rob Lowe co-star.
Also, the Paranormal horror BEWARE THE NIGHT gains a prime summer release date, after being moved from January. Scott Derrickson’s new fright feature about cops, priests and demons stars Eric Bana, Oliva Munn, Sean Harris, Edgar Ramirez and is out July 2 2014.

Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
