We reported last week that the ENTOURAGE movie is finally starting to build up momentum. All the key male actors from the original television series have put pen to paper and signed their contracts for the film which is to be directed by creator Doug Ellin. The series ran for an impressive eight seasons and had one very famous fan in the shape of American President, Barack Obama.
For the uninitiated, Entourage followed fictitious actor Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) as he rose from nobody to superstar and dealt with the pitfalls of fame along the way. The brilliant thing about Entourage, other than it essentially being a Sex and the City for men, was all the amazing cameos that popped up. The series was pretty much a ‘who’s who’ of Hollywood, with stars such as show producer Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Alba, Malin Ackerman, Gary Busey, Val Kilmer, and the late Dennis Hopper making appearances.
Now the male cast – including Grenier, Kevin Connolley, Jeremy Piven, Kevin Dillion and Jerry Ferrara – has been secured it is time to begin the search for the film’s females. The show saw the group amass some impressive bed-post notches between them including Mandy Moore, Emmanuelle Chriiqui, Leighton Meester and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The series ended with Vincent settling down with STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS’ Alice Eve, who played a journalist, however she has yet to confirm, which points to signs that the relationship hasn’t lasted. Enter Sport’s Illustrated model Kate Upton. Upton is currently trying to make the move from modelling to acting like Milla Jovovich and Cameron Diaz before her. Thus far her only roles have been in TOWER HEIST and THE THREE STOOGES, however a role in ENTOURAGE could easily see her playing herself, or another model-turned-actress.
Details are being kept under wraps for the moment but now the ink has finally dried on those contracts expect to start hearing a lot more over the next few months.
