A brand new featurette has surfaced for Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth fantasy sequel THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG. The Oscar-winning director of the classic LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy continues the reluctant adventure of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarf warriors, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the winged, fire-breathing beasty in the title.
Check it out as it centres on the hulking bear-like creature Beorn, played by Mikael Persbrandt.
THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Ken Stott, Elijah Wood, Lee Pace, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Aiden Turner, Hugo Weaving, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
