Fans of J.R.R. Tolkein’s Middle-earth fantasy adventures, once again brought to the big-screen by Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson, will want to feast their eyes on the latest television spot and seemingly never-ending banner. THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG is gearing up for release on the 13th December as we again follow Bilbo Baggins’ reluctant, hairy-footed hero. Take a look and let us know if you’re eager to see the sequel to Jackson’s opening prequel from last December.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece “The Hobbit,” by J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Ken Stott, Elijah Wood, Lee Pace, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Aiden Turner, Hugo Weaving, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lily, Orlando Bloom and Andy Serkis.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
