Josh Brolin’s ‘Oldboy’ Faces His Tormentor In Latest Clip

A brand new spoilerish clip has hit for Spike Lee’s controversial remake of Chan-wook Park’s South Korean revenge classic OLDBOY. It sees Josh Brolin’s kidnapped and imprisoned advertising executive Joe Doucett, now mysteriously released and on a ruthless quest for answers, finally meet Sharlto Copley’s scarred antagonist Adrian Pryce for the first time (or so he believes). The man whom took him away from his comfortable life and family for two decades!

Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of Joe Doucett, a man who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released without explanation, he begins an obsessive mission to find out who imprisoned him, only to discover that the real mystery is why he was set free.

OLDBOY co-stars Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Lance Reddick, Michael Imperioli, James Ransone and opens in US cinemas on 27th November and the UK 6th December.

Craig is leading the charge as our north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
