Fans of the quirky smash NEW GIRL might be happy to know that the coach is here to stay this time! It was announced today that Damon Wayans Jr. has signed a deal that will see him at the Fox series for the rest of season three.
Wayans Jr. was one of the original roommates in the series, but HAPPY ENDINGS called instead, and NEW GIRL replaced Coach with a new character Winston, played by the ever funny Lamorne Morris. Now that HAPPY ENDINGS got a not so happy ending (and we might still be bitter about that cancellation), Wayans Jr. can return to the Zooey Deschanel led comedy.
It also has been stated that Wayans Jr. will be getting a “special guest star” credit, instead of being stated as a regular (they’re probably after that guest star Emmy – and we’re not surprised!). While Wayans four episode stint is currently under way in the US, it’s unclear how long we will have to wait until we see him recurring.
NEW GIRL airs on E4 in the UK, with no date set for season three just yet. Are you excited for Wayans return? We certainly are!
