Later today we’ll bring you the brand new second trailer for Jose Padilha’s unique look at the future of law-enforcement. However, just like yesterday’s sneak peek, Sony’s reboot of the Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classic has taken ET behind-the-scenes of the controversial film. Padilha’s adaptation offers to give us something very different to the 1987 hit, but it will still keep the emphasis on Detroit cop Alex Murphy and his struggles in adapting to his new ‘get-up’ following a tragic incident that almost claimed his life.
In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
ROBOCOP stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Michael Kenneth Williams. It’s dead or alive from 7th February 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
