A Sneak Peek At Footage Ahead Of Tomorrows New ‘RoboCop’ Trailer

We’ve a sneak peek at footage from the forthcoming remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 ultra-violent futuristic masterpiece ROBOCOP, just ahead of the brand new trailer arriving tomorrow. Joel Kinnaman takes on the title role of the doomed Detroit police officer Alex Murphy, who find himself turned into a multi-million dollar machine, re-programmed as an unstoppable cyborg to clean up the city streets. José Padilha is the helm of this upgrade with a top cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel and Jackie Earle Haley.

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

ROBOCOP co-stars Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Michael K. Williams and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. It opens in the US and the UK on 7th February 2013.
