Formally titled EMANUEL AND THE TRUTH ABOUT FISHES, the intriguing new thriller starring Kaya Scodelario and Jessica Biel now has a slightly different moniker. THE TRUTH ABOUT EMANUEL comes from writer/producer/director Francesca Gregorini and garnered a strong 4 star review from us here at THN following its premiere at the recent London International Film Festival.
The plot centres on Emanuel (Scodelario), a troubled girl who becomes preoccupied with her mysterious neighbour and who bears a striking resemblance to her dead mother (Biel). When offering to babysit her new friends baby daughter, Emanuel unwittingly enters a fragile, fictional world, of which she becomes a gatekeeper.
THE TRUTH ABOUT EMANUEL is expected to arrive in cinemas early next year. It co-stars Alfred Molina and Frances O’Connor.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
