Butler & Diesel May Be On Board For ‘Kane & Lynch’

Kane & LynchGerard Butler may rejoin force with his LAW ABIDING CITIZEN director, F. Gary Gray, for the computer game adaptation, KANE & LYNCH. Butler is already reportedly in talks with producers to play Kane, while an offer has been made to Vin Diesel regarding the role of Lynch, although the latter piece of casting is still very much up in the air. The film would follow the computer game characters of Kane, a death row inmate sprung from prison, and his partner Lynch, a schizophrenic killer. The game saw the characters hop from place to place in the search of a hidden fortune which if they failed to find, would result in the murder of Kane’s family.

Fans have probably passed on from holding their breath, as the film was first discussed during 2007, the same release year as the game. Stars such as Bruce Willis have come and gone, and Gray was once attached to the project before leaving and then returning. Skip Woods and Kyle Ward have penned the screenplay. I’m never too excited about video game adaptations, so I’ll keep this one on the “maybe” pile for now. Although, Gray’s work has been very impressive over the years.

I haven’t played the game but the guy with the phone needs to be Robert Patrick (note the resemblance) and the other one makes me think of a cross between John Malkovich and Jeff Bridges.
