Carnage In The Latest Red-Band Viral Clip For Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’

We’re still unsure how faithful Spike Lee’s OLDBOY remake is to either or both the classic 2003 revenge thriller and the graphic novel to which Chan Wook Park’s film was based. Still, I’m fascinated to see how the dark the story of advertising executive Joe Doucett (Josh Brolin) plays out this time around. After being mysteriously kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, he finds himself free but without any indication of his captor’s motive. Hell bent on vengeance and a search for answers begins Joe’s dark descent into a web of conspiracy that he may wish had never entered into.

Check out this violent viral clip from the film opening in US cinemas on 27th November and the UK 6th December.

OLDBOY co-stars Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Lance Reddick, Michael Imperioli and James Ransone.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
