Watch: Live Stream For ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’ Fan Event!

Gearing up for the December 2013 release of THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, the second film in the Peter Jackson-directed trilogy, fans are being given the chance to interact with the newest cast members…via the World Wide Web!

Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace and Luke Evans will be part of a global fan celebration to be held on Monday 4th November at 10pm UK time, a broadcast that will be held simultaneously around the world. At each of the satellite-linked cinemas in four host cities – LA, New York, London and Wellington – Jackson and members of his cast and team will gather with fans to show exclusive footage from THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and answer questions in front of a live audience, as well as offer a few surprises.

London will be hosted by Edith Bowman and attending cast will include Pace, Evans and Andy Serkis. CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will be based in New York, accompanied by Richard Armitage and Bloom. Evangeline Lilly will be based in LA, whilst Peter Jackson will join in from Wellington, New Zealand (where it will be 11am on Wednesday 6th November!).

Each cinema will be connected by satellite, allowing audiences to participate in a simultaneous Q&A session. Additionally, in cities around the globe – Brussels, Hamburg, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Paris, Rome, Sydney and Toronto – fans will be invited to gather at selected cinemas to be among the first to see the extended footage debut and watch the festivities unfold live.

The event will also be streamed live online so that anyone with an internet connection can join the celebration at home or at viewing parties among friends (though the online simulcast will feature an edited version of the extended footage debut).

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
